WordPress, plugin W3 Total Cache: qualcosa non va?
(UPDATE) Forse c’è un’incompatibilità tra W3 Super Cache e la configurazione di questo blog: da questo primo post vedremo se è vero
(UPDATE) Ho provato a utilizzare il plugin W3 Total Cache, che a quanto si legge sembra tra quelli con il miglior rapporto tra prestazioni, compatibilità con i diversi scenari e adozione anche da parte di grandi circuiti.
Per prima cosa, va detto che non risulta possibile – se non in specifiche configurazioni di hosting – utilizzare quella che il programmatore chiama funzione MemCached: in altre parole, far svolgere la funzione di caching in memoria che sarebbe ovviamente la cosa più veloce.
Funzionano, almeno all’apparenza, i meccanismi di caching su disco. Tuttavia, nel post che ho pubblicato ieri riguardo la pubblicità con Heyos, è accaduto qualcosa che mi ha insospettito:
- il post è uscito su Twitter, come di solito accade avendo Twitter Tools installato, ma,
- il post non è stato indicizzato da Google e non è stato visualizzato tra gli ultimi post.
La cosa mi ha lasciato perplesso, in verità. Ora ho provato a disabilitare W3 Total Cache, vediamo cosa accade: in particolare, se l’indicizzazione di Google torna pressoché immediata, com’era prima.
Nota: la pubblicazione la farò immediata, non programmata.
UPDATE:
Google ha indicizzato con l’abituale velocità e nel box “Ultimi post” il titolo c’è stato inserito. Tutto questo è abbastanza sospetto: si rende necessario fare qualche altra prova.

Thanks Frederick, I know, I never said it’s a plugin problem but a compatibility problem among different plugins (I use a lotta them here). In fact, at The New Blog Times (http://nbtimes.it) it works fine and has given much more overall speed to the site (Thanks!).
Read (with the help of a translator, I suppose, as I have to write in italian for italian readers) the next posts, where I’ll say that there is nothing wrong with W3 Total Cache.
